TERRE HAUTE, Ind. -- Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology placed five starters in double figures and hit all 10 free throws in the second half to top Transylvania University 72-63 in Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference men's basketball action on Saturday at Hulbert Arena.

Senior Jimmy Miller led the balanced attack with 14 points on 5-10 from the field with five rebounds.  Senior Dillon Reynolds added 13 points on three three-point shots.

Senior Matt Loesing contributed 12 points and four rebounds, while freshman Charlie Aimone had 11 points, six assists and four rebounds.

Senior Tyler Duffy had perhaps the most impressive performance with his second career double-double.  Duffy scored 10 points with 13 rebounds and five assists in the victory.

Cooper Theobald led three Transylvania players in double figures with 17 points on 10-12 from the foul line.  Bo Schuh scored 13 points, and Parker Stansberry added 10 for the Pioneers.

Other key contributors for the Fightin' Engineers included Wade Stallings with five points and three assists, and the duo of Stephen Schueth and Luke Callahan with three points each.

Rose-Hulman also jumped into a first place tie in the HCAC standings at 3-1 in league play after four games with the victory.

Rose-Hulman built a 36-31 lead at the half on 46% shooting from the field.  The Fightin' Engineers increased their lead to as many as 14 points midway through the second half, before Transylvania rallied to trim the margin to seven.  Rose-Hulman relied on its free throw shooting and a 42-36 rebounding edge to secure the victory.

The Fightin' Engineers improved to 6-5 overall and 3-1 in conference play, while Transylvania dropped to 2-9 and 1-3.  Rose-Hulman returns to action at Hanover College on Wednesday night.
