LEXINGTON, Va. (Dec. 30, 2015) – A jumper by junior guard Jorden Williams with three seconds left in overtime lifted the Sewanee men's basketball team to a thrilling 68-67 win over Methodist, Wednesday, at the Washington & Lee Holiday Classic inside the Warner Center.
Trailing 67-64 with 18 seconds left in the extra period, junior Brody Stone pulled the Tigers to within one point. After Sewanee quickly fouled Blake Davis with 15 seconds remaining, the Methodist guard missed the ensuing free throw. After Stone secured the defensive rebound, head coach Bubba Smith called a timeout with nine seconds to play. From there, Williams hit his game winner right before the buzzer. Methodist had one final desperation attempt that missed as time expired.
