Hartford, Conn. - Three Bantams finished in double digits as the Trinity College men's basketball team cruised past Anna Maria, 87-58, in the opening game of the Trinity Men's Basketball Holiday Invitational on Wednesday evening. Trinity improves to 6-3 on the year while Anna Maria falls to 5-4 overall. 

The Bantams got out to a hot start with junior center Ed Ogundeko (Brooklyn, N.Y.) scoring the team's first five points, followed by two breakaway baskets from senior captain forward Shay Ajayi (Brooklyn, N.Y.) that gave the team a 9-2 advantage and forced Anna Maria to burn their first timeout at the 17:53 mark. Out of the timeout, Trinity responded with a 20-7 run to take a 29-9 lead. The Bantams headed into the locker room with a commanding 43-22 lead, led by 17 points from Ogundeko and nine from Ajayi. Ogundeko finished the half 7-8 from the field and added 8 rebounds. Trinity dominated the Amcats on the glass, outrebounding them 27-15.

Trinity kept their foot on the gas in the second half as they maintained a 20 point lead for the majority of the time. After finishing the first half with six points, senior captain guard Jaquann Starks (Hartford, Conn.) put up 10 in the second half to finish with 16 points on the evening. Ogundeko finished with 17 points and 12 rebounds while Ajayi finished with 11 points. As a team, Trinity shot 51.5% from the field and out-rebounded Anna Maria 44-30. Senior guard Patrick Bradanese (Billerica, Mass.) led the way for the Amcats, finishing with 15 points complimented by 10 points from senior forward Kyle McKissick (Charlton, Mass). 

Trinity moves on to the tournament championship game tomorrow at 2 p.m. and will playDelaware Valley. Anna Maria will play in the consolation game against Pine Manor tomorrow at 12 p.m.
