SALEM, Ore. — Spencer Levy scored 25 points and Andrew Johnson added 19 and eight rebounds.
But foul trouble caught up to the Occidental men's basketball team in the second half as the Tigers fell at Willamette 74-68 on Saturday.
Season Impact: The loss snaps a streak of six consecutive victories by double digits and runs Oxy's record to 6-2.
Willamette improves to 2-6 on the season.
Levy shot Oxy out to a 36-27 halftime lead, despite playing most of the first 20 minutes with three fouls. Oxy off guard Jay Miller also missed time in the first half with three fouls.
Both Levy and Miller quickly picked up their fourth fouls in the second half and were forced to the bench, breaking Oxy's offensive rhythm. The Tigers shot just 37 percent from the field in the second half and the Bearcats got just about whatever they wanted on the offensive end, shooting 60 percent.
Alex Brown led Willamette with 24 points, including 6 of 8 from the free throw line.
The Bearcats shot 35 free throws as a group and the Tigers struggled from the line, going just 13 of 23.
Miller chipped in 10 points and Kory Hamane had six for Oxy. First year Austin Dewitz scored four points and grabbed eight rebounds in a return to his hometown of Portland.
The Tigers played their second game in a row without 6-foot-8 senior starting big man Andrew Garrison, who missed the game due to injury.
