MADISON, Wis. - The 10th-ranked Benedictine University men's basketball team improved to 7-0 on the season with a wire-to-wire win at Edgewood College on Saturday.

THE DETAILS
• Benedictine scored the first seven points of the game and did not look back
• John Dodson opened the scoring with a layup before Adam Reynolds added five straight
• After an Edgewood bucket, Benedictine struck for 10 straight to open a 19-2 advantage
• Michael Blaszczyk hit two free throws with 3:21 remaining in the first half to extend the lead to 32-11
• Benedictine led 38-20 at halftime
• Luke Johnson drained a three early in the second half to push the lead to 27 points at 49-22
• Edgewood pulled no closer than 17 the rest of the game and was never within closer than 14 points from the mid-point of the first half onward

"We were able to get off to a quick start today and did not lose much intensity," head coach Keith Bunkenburg said. "We always say the start of the half and the end of the half create momentum, and we were able to do that today. We need to keep picking each other up and have someone different contribute each game."
STAT LEADERS
• Johnson led all scorers with 16 points and added a career best 20 rebounds
• Dodson struck for 15 points as 14 individuals saw action
• Benedictine was dominant on the glass, holding a 53-34 edge
• The defense limited Edgewood to just 31.7 percent shooting while Benedictine finished the game at 45.7 percent
