Blackburn Comeback Falls Short

The Blackburn College Men's Basketball Team travelled to Rolla, Missouri to take on Missouri S&T, an NCAA Division II school on Tuesday night.  The Beavers lost a 104-91 decisioon in a non-conference contest that Blackburn trailed by 19 point before a second half comeback gave the Beavers a one point lead.

Missouri S&T jumped out to a 20-4 lead before extending it to 19 points then taking a 51-38 halftime lead.  Blackburn came out of the gate in the second half on fire as the Beavers went on an 18-2 run to begin the second half taking a 56-55 lead. The furious comeback took a toll on the Beavers as Missouri S&T regained their composure and steadily moved back ahead to take the victory.

Chris Davis scored 21 points to lead the Beaves while DeAndre Manuel and Jamie Moore contributed 18 points apiece for Blackburn.  The Beavers shot 51 percent for the game and out-rebounded the home team 39-37.

Blackburn is now 1-7 on the young season.
