Albion pulls away from Olivet

OLIVET, Mich. – Albion College reeled off an 11-0 run midway through the first half and it never trailed again as it scored an 84-67 victory over Olivet College in Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association men's basketball action.

Olivet led 13-7 early, but Albion became efficient on offense and took off. The Britons made eight shots in a row as Carter Elliott and Jordan Herron each made a pair of layups, Dakota Kazen and Robert Ryan hit shots from 3-point range, and Zach Hurth chipped in with a layup.

Albion shot 50 percent (15-of-30) from the field and led by 17, 40-23, at halftime.

Albion maintained the double-digit lead in the second half.

Kazen produced 25 points, one of five Britons to score in double figures. Travell Oakes produced a double-double of 17 points and 10 rebounds. Herron tacked on 14 points off the bench, and Hurth and Ryan finished with 11 points apiece.

DeOndre Callahan led Olivet with 17 points.

Albion (12-11 overall, 5-7 MIAA) will play its final two games at home, starting with a 6 p.m. Wednesday date with Trine University.
