Walton-Moss Records 6th Triple-Double in Cavaliers' 99-69 Victory

RADNOR, Pa. – The Cabrini men's basketball team improved to 12-9 on the season and 9-5 in the Colonial States Athletic Conference tonight, as it scored a 99-69 victory over the visiting Baptist Bible College Defenders at Nerney Field House.  

Senior Aaron Walton-Moss led five Cavaliers in double figures, as the senior recorded his sixth triple-double of the season.  Walton-Moss scored 36 points on 16-22 from the field, grabbed 11 rebounds and handed out 10 assists to go with three steals.

The senior also stepped into the Cabrini record book in the first half, as his fifth rebound of the night broke Karl Sartor's (1983-87) career rebound record of 810.  Walton-Moss also sits just 103 points from breaking the program's scoring record of 1,604 points, currently held by Billy Carr (1992-96).

Freshman Jair Green paired 15 points with 11 rebounds, while senior Vinny Walls tallied 14 points, four rebounds, four assists and three steals.  

Freshman Tyheim Monroe posted his fifth double-double with 12 points and 11 boards off the bench.  Sophomore Ryan Charity added 10 points in 14 minutes.

The Cavaliers ran out to an early 18-4 lead less than five minutes into the action. Walton-Moss found Green for a lay-up that capped a 10-0 run and extended the lead to 19 points at the 8:42 mark of the first half.  

Despite shooting over 55% from the field before the break, the Blue and White led just 46-34 at the half.

The Cavaliers turned up the pressure after the break, as it outscored the Defenders 53-35 in the second half.  Walton-Moss converted three three point plays in the opening 4:13 of the half that helped increase the cushion to 23 points.  Minutes later, a Charity triple put the exclamation point on an 11-0 run, putting the Cavaliers up 82-48.

Freshman Mitch Raup led the Defenders (2-18, 1-12 CSAC) with 18 points, while junior Abe Valentine added 17 points, eight rebounds and five assists, including the 1,000th point of his career.

The Cavaliers will hit the road on Saturday, as they travel to La Plume, Pa. to face Keystone College (7-13, 7-6 CSAC).  The action is slated to begin at 1 p.m.

The Giants hit 19 three pointers en route to a 95-93 victory in Nerney Field House on January 19.
