The Hamilton College men's basketball team closed out the non-league portion of its schedule with a 68-51 win at Alfred State College on Thursday night. The Continentals (13-6 overall) finished with a 12-2 non-conference record.

Peter Kazickas '15 led Hamilton with 12 points and eight rebounds. All 14 Continentals played at least six minutes in the win and Hamilton's bench scored 39 points.

The Continentals held the host Pioneers (5-14) to one basket in the first 6:42 and opened a 16-6 lead 7:34 into the game. Hamilton extended its lead to 19 points at 32-13 late in the opening period before taking a 34-21 lead into halftime. Kazickas scored all of his 12 points in the first half and pulled down seven rebounds.

Hamilton maintained its double-digit advantage for the entire second half, using a 13-2 run to take its biggest lead at 56-33 with 6:19 remaining.

Kyle Pitman '17 poured in 10 points in just eight minutes, Jack Donnelly '16 finished with nine points on three 3-pointers and Kelan McConnell '18 scored a season-high eight points – all in the second half -- for the Continentals.

Tommy Hutson '15 and Justin Wallace '16 scored 10 points apiece to lead the Pioneers, who had won three straight before tonight. Robbie Adams '17 finished with six points and six rebounds.

Hamilton's Karl Koster '18 contributed seven points and Jack Dwyer '18 led the Continentals with a career-best eight assists. Joseph Lin '15, who entered the game ranked fifth nationally with 6.9 assists per game, finished with four along with a personal-high four steals.

The Continentals return to NESCAC play on Sunday, Feb. 1, traveling to Middlebury College for a 2 p.m. game.
