Bronxville, N.Y. – Led by a team-high 16 points from freshman Ammad Alkhulaidi (Brooklyn, N.Y.) and a career-high 14 points from classmate Madison Martinez (Atlanta, Ga.), the College of Mount Saint Vincent Men's Basketball team scored its third straight victory with a 77-62 road league win at Sarah Lawrence on Saturday afternoon.

Mount Saint Vincent never trailed in the game and built a double-figure lead on a Kyle Beckmann (New City, N.Y.) three-pointer that pushed the Dolphins in front 14-4 just over six minutes into the contest. The Gryphons would get as close as seven points in the middle stages of the period, but a 21-11 stretch over the final 7:59 of the half sent Mount Saint Vincent into halftime with a 48-25 advantage.

The Dolphins shot an efficient 60.7-percent from the floor in the first 20 minutes, including a 45.5-percent effort from three-point range. Martinez scored 11 points in the first period, going 4-for-4 from the floor, including a pair of three-pointers, to go along with a career-high four assists. Alkhulaidi added nine points and three assists before halftime.

The Mount maintained a lead of at least 20 points over the first 16 minutes of the second half, before Sarah Lawrence put together a 14-6 spurt to slice the Mount Saint Vincent lead to 12 points on a Glenn Forstner three-point field goal with 1:33 remaining in regulation.

The Dolphins answered with six of the final nine points in the game, with Alkhulaidi scoring all six for the Mount at the free-throw line in the last 1:20 of the second half. He scored all seven of his second half points from the stripe and grabbed six rebounds in the second stanza.

Alkhulaidi finished the game 2-for-8 from the floor and 12-for-17 from the free-throw line and closed a solid game with nine rebounds, four assists and a career-high five blocked shots. Martinez rounded out the game 5-for-6 from the floor, adding his four helpers, two rebounds and a pair of steals.

Mount Saint Vincent had 12 different players score in the game with Beckmann and Andrew Curiel (Bronx, N.Y.) each totaling eight points. Jesse Regina (Staten Island, N.Y.) added six points and five boards and Mike Mulligan (Pearl River, N.Y.) came off the bench to post career-highs with six points and six rebounds.

The Dolphins shot 46.3-percent from the field in the game and held the Gryphons to 34.4-percent overall. Jeff Jordan II led Sarah Lawrence with a game-high 19 points and Keith Burns added 18 points, hitting four of the team's nine three-point field goals in the game.

Saturday's win moves Mount Saint Vincent to 11-5 overall and to 7-2 in Skyline Conference play. The Dolphins will return home on Wednesday night when they welcome Skyline Conference Preseason favorite Purchase to the Peter Jay Sharp Center. Tip-off is scheduled for 7:00 p.m.
