ALBION, Mich. – Albion went 11 minutes without a field goal in the second half in a 56-46 loss to Adrian in Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association men's basketball action.

Zach Hurth knocked down a 3-point basket as Albion forged a tie at 27 with 17 minutes left. The Britons didn't get another basket until Hurth scored his fifth "three" of the game with six minutes remaining, but they trailed 38-32 at that point. Albion's only points in between came on free throws by Travell Oakes and De'Tavia Moore.

While Albion was struggling to score, Ben Rodak connected on a pair of shots from three-point range and Curtis Gordon tacked on an old-fashioned three-point play.

Rodak put the game out of reach with three minutes left on a three-point shot as he was falling and the shot clock was expiring. The Bulldogs led 43-34 at that point. Rodak and Rickey Jackson finished with 13 points apiece. Gordon tacked on 11.

Albion finished shooting 26 percent (14-of-54). Hurth led all players with 19 points.

The bright spot for Albion was a 40-28 edge in rebounds. Jordan Herron collected eight and Oakes had seven.

Albion has a quick turnaround as it travels to Oakland University tomorrow for a 3 o'clock game broadcast by Comcast and ESPN3. The Britons' next MIAA contest is a Wednesday home date against Olivet College.
