Seven Straight: Roos Shoot Past Express, 81-62

Aurora, NY – Seven players scored seven or more points as the men's basketball team used offensive balance to defeat host Wells College, 81-62, on Sunday afternoon. The Roos shot 52 percent as a team from the field en route to their seventh consecutive victory.
 
Sam Annorh (Queens, NY) paced the Roos (8-2) with 15 points, five rebounds, four assists and three steals. Scott Bartenstein (Potsdam, NY), Romario Fletcher (Queens, NY) and Kam Peterkin (Harlem, NY) added 10 points apiece. Khalil Bratton (Queens, NY) posted eight points and a game-high eight rebounds, while Tyler Ellison (New York, NY) and Walt Jeter (Fort Drum, NY) finished with eight and seven points, respectively.

Walt Jeter posted 7 points on 3-for-4 shooting off the bench against Wells.

SUNY Canton outscored Wells 13-4 over the final 6:27 of the opening stanza to take a commanding 41-30 lead into intermission. Annorh led the way with 10 points, while Peterkin and Fletcher recorded eight points apiece in the opening 20 minutes.
 
The Roos quickly opened their margin to 15 with a pair of back-to-back hoops from from Matt Spencer (Gouverneur, NY) and Annorh. SUNY Canton opened its largest lead of the game with 8:56 remaining after Jeter knocked down an open three from the left wing on a find from Peterkin to open up a 70-45 advantage.
 
SUNY Canton held the edge in rebounds (44-28), points off turnovers (19-9), second chance points (16-9) and bench points (40-22). Jordan Jean paced the Express with 17 points and eight rebounds, while Shakeel Simmons added 12 points. Fifteen players played at least three minutes for the Roos.
