The Baruch College Bearcats lost 80-65 to the No. 22 ranked Yellow Jackets of Randolph-Macon College at the R-MC Kay Jewelers Coaches Classic near Richmond, Virginia on Tuesday night.

The Yellow Jackets shot 45 percent (28-for-62) and connected on 8-of-20 from three this evening to propel themselves to their ninth victory of the season.

The visiting Bearcats (6-3) dug themselves into a hole early by shooting 32 percent (11-for-35) in the first half that enabled the Yellow Jackets to build a double-digit lead en route to the home victory.


Bryler Paige(4-of-7 3fg) and Chimaechi Ekekeugbor(7-12 fg, 8 rbs) led the Bearcats in scoring with 15 points each. Raymond De La Cruzfinished with 12 points.

Granville Gittenswas named to the All-Tournament team with a combined 31 points in the two games. He scored nine points tonight and 23 last night versus Salisbury.

The Yellow Jackets' Akeem Holmes was named the MVP of the Coaches Classic. He scored 15 points and 15 rebounds this evening against the Bearcats.

The Bearcats will resume their conference schedule on Saturday, January 3, with a 3:00 pm contest at Medgar Evers College in Brooklyn, New York.
