MONTCLAIR, NJ—Buffalo State (3-4) knocked down 13 3-pointers as it shot past host Montclair State (4-6) for an 85-80 victory today to capture the title in the Team Hill Holiday Classic.

Roderick Epps (Uniondale/Uniondale) scored a team-best 22 points, while going 4 of 10 from beyond the arc.  Chris Cartwright (Binghamton/Binghamton) added 21 points, including hitting 6 of 15 from long range, while Jordan Glover (Buffalo/Sweet Home) added 15 points to go with career-bests with 13 rebounds and nine assists.

Cartwright was named tournament MVP, while Glover and Epps were named to the All-Tournament Team.

The Bengals led for most of the game, taking a 42-35 edge into halftime.  Montclair led briefly in the second-half, but a Cartwright 3-pointer with 10 minutes remaining gave Buffalo State a lead it would never relinquish.

Buffalo State shot 36-percent from long range, hitting 13 of 36 attempts, compared to just 2 of 15 shooting by Montclair State.  The Bengals were outrebounded 51-41 and were outscored in the paint, 46-22, but used the long-range shot and took advantage of 21 Montclair turnovers to come out on top.

Buffalo State will return to action when it hosts Brockport in a SUNYAC contest on Jan. 6 at 5:30 p.m.
