The Warhawks shot 47.5% from the field making 28 of their 59 opportunities including 10-23 from three-point range. The defense held the Hornets to 37.3% from the floor in the contest and forced 17 turnovers.

UW-Whitewater jumped out to a 23-6 lead less than eight minutes into the game. Kalamazoo cut the lead to 12, 27-15 with 8:05 left in the half when the Warhawks responded with six straight points to push the advantage to 18, 33-15 with 6:27 on the clock.

After a three-pointer by Hornet Adam Dykema, Evans answered on the Warhawks' end of the court with a jumper from behind the arc for his sixth point of the game to go over the 1,000 point mark in his career. Evans is the 28th Warhawk in UW-Whitewater men's basketball history to score over 1,000 points in his career. Teammate Quardell Young reached the milestone earlier this season.

Back-to-back three's from Kalamazoo cut the deficit to 12 but the Warhawks responded with 12 straight to take their largest lead of the half, 48-24, with 57 seconds remaining in the half. UW-Whitewater went into intermission with a 21 point, 48-27, lead.

The Warhawks outscored the Hornets 20-6 in the paint and 11-0 off of turnovers in the half. 

UW-Whitewater continued to add to their lead in the second half compiling their largest advantage of the game at the 6:13 mark with the scoreboard reading 80-38. The margin hovered in the upper 30's the rest of the way.

The Warhawks continued their dominance in the paint outscoring Kalamazoo 16-6 and added a 15-5 advantage off of turnovers in the second half.

All 13 Warhawks that saw the court entered the scoring column in the game led by Evans' 14 points, seven rebounds, five assists and two steals. Young added 13 points on 6-9 from the floor and added five assists. Ron Patten went 3-6 from downtown with 11 points and Cole VanSchyndel came off the bench to score 10 in the contest. 

Adam Peters led Kalamazoo with 12 points on 5-7 from the field and 2-3 from behind the arc.

The Warhawks will host Beloit College Wednesday, December 31 with tip-off scheduled for 1 p.m. in Kachel Gym.
