Jamir Ferebee Earns Skyline Conference Rookie Of The Week Honors

New York, N.Y. – College of Mount Saint Vincent freshman Jamir Ferebee (Staten Island, N.Y.) has been named the Skyline Conference Rookie of the Week in Men's Basketball it was announced on Monday afternoon. The honor is the third in four weeks for the program.

 

Ferebee had a solid week for the Mount who posted three victories, including two wins over Skyline Conference foes. He averaged 10.0 points, 2.3 rebounds, 1.7 assists and 1.3 steals per game for the Mount. He rounded out the week shooting 43.5-percent (10-for-23) from the floor and shot 61.5-percent from the free-throw line.

 

After being held to five points and four rebounds in the Dolphins' first ever win against Farmingdale State on Tuesday, Ferebee responded with 12 points on the strength of 5-for-9 shooting on Thursday in a come-from-behind 82-79 home win over St. Joseph's-Brooklyn. Ferebee closed out the week with 13 points, going 6-for-8 from the free-throw line, with four assists, three rebounds and a pair of steals in the Mount's 93-66 victory over Sarah Lawrence on Saturday.

 

Following the three game stretch last week, Ferebee ranks third on the team in scoring average and rebounding and tied for second on the team in blocked shots. In the Skyline Conference rankings, Ferebee sits 11th in scoring average.

 

At 6-0 overall on the season, Mount Saint Vincent will put its six game winning streak on the line Saturday afternoon when it travels to Division I St. Francis Brooklyn. Tip-off with the Terriers is scheduled for 2:00 p.m.
