#22 DePauw Moves to 4-0 with Win over Engineers in Home Opener

Greencastle, Ind. - Four starters scored in double figures as 22nd-ranked DePauw improved to 4-0 with a 77-58 win over visiting Rose-Hulman. The Engineers dropped to 0-3 with the loss.

Rose-Hulman got out to a quick 6-1 lead in the opening four minutes, but DePauw responded with 15 straight and never trailed the rest of the way. The run started with threes from Frank Patton III and Bob Dillon followed by a Tommy Fernitz dunk, two free throws from Luke Lattner, a bucket by ClintCunningham and a three-point play from Michael Onuorah.

The Engineers scored the next nine before the hosts pulled away to a 36-27 halftime lead. Rose-Hulman closed to within five at 44-39 with 12:57 left before Onuorah and Dillon nailed threes on back-to-back possessions. DePauw extended the lead to as many as 21 with under four minutes remaining.

Lattner paced the Tigers with 14 followed by Fernitz with his third straight double-double of 12 points and 13 rebounds with a team-high three assists. Dillon and Patton added 11 and 10 points, respectively.

Corey Povaleri led Rose-Hulman with 17 points, while Tyler Duffy chipped in 12 points and Jimmy Miller grabbed seven rebounds. 

DePauw shot 51.9 percent from the floor and knocked in 11-20 three-pointers, while Rose-Hulmanshot 37.5 percent from the field. The Tigers held a 34-28 edge on the boards.

The Tigers return to action on Wednesday, December 3, when they travel to Denison for a 7:30 p.m. game.
