New York, N.Y. – College of Mount Saint Vincent freshman Ammad Alkhulaidi (Brooklyn, N.Y.) picked up his first career weekly award on Monday afternoon when he was named the Skyline Conference Rookie of the Week in Men's Basketball.

In an 84-61 season opening non-conference win over Medgar Evers, Alkhulaidi scored 11 points and hauled in 12 rebounds in his collegiate debut. He shot 3-for-4 from the floor overall and went a perfect 4-for-4 from the free-throw line to go along with three assists, two blocks and a steal for the Dolphins.

With Saturday's win Mount Saint Vincent stands at 1-0 overall on the season heading into Tuesday's non-conference contest with Vaughn. Tip-off with the visiting Warriors is scheduled for 7:00 p.m.
