ANDERSON, IND. – A strong scoring attack from the trio of junior forward Jon Thompson (Rushville, Ind.), sophomore guard Brady Dolezal (Tipton, Ind.) and freshman guard Chase Casteel (Monrovia, Ind.) led the way for Manchester University Wednesday, Feb. 12.

Despite double-digit finishes for all three, MU (5-17 overall, 4-11 Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference) couldn't overcome a hard-charging Anderson University squad on its home floor. After a first half which was nip-and-tuck throughout, AU (5-17, 5-10 HCAC) posted 53 points in the final 20 minutes including a key 29-11 run that led them to an 84-70 win.

Thompson, compiling double figures for the ninth time in 12 games this season, tallied 18 points on seven-of-13 field goal shooting as part of a double-double (10 rebounds). Dolezal extended his double figure scoring streak to 10 consecutive games with 19 points due to sparkling shooting from the field (five-of-seven) and the charity stripe (nine-of-10) and added three assists and a steal, while Casteel made it back-to-back double-digit contests with 13 points to go with six rebounds off the bench.

The Spartans continue a three-game league road trip with a 5 p.m. tipoff at the College of Mt. St. Joseph of Ohio Saturday, Feb. 15.

NOTES – Sophomore forward Jarod Schrock (Logansport, Ind.) added strong numbers off the glass (eight rebounds) and assist-wise (four) to go with a blocked shot … Thompson's double-double was his second of the season.
