La Plume, PA – With Wednesday night's Colonial States Athletic Conference men's basketball game between Keystone College and Baptist Bible College tied at 67-67 with 1:18 remaining in regulation, the Giants outscored the Defenders 10-2 down the stretch to pull out an exciting, 77-69 victory on Think Pink Night in front of an energetic crowd at the Gambal Athletic Center.  Keystone moves to 10-12 on the season while completing the season sweep of their local rivals and 7-8 in conference play while Baptist Bible slips to 7-15 overall and 4-11 in the CSAC.

Keystone jumped out to a 9-3 just over two minutes into the game before Baptist Bible used a 17-6 to lead 20-15 midway through the first half.  The Defenders would lead by as many as nine points before an 8-0 run by the Giants gave the hosts a 32-31 advantage with 3:53 remaining in the period.  The visitors went in front by a pair after Dan Decker hit a three-pointer before a jumper by Dan Candemeres (Holbrook, NY/Sachem East) sent the game into halftime deadlocked at 34-34.

Duncan Lunsford (Marietta, GA/Sprayberry) led Keystone with eight points, five rebounds, and three assists in the opening 20 minutes of play while Candemeres netted seven points in the period.  The Giants shot 40 percent from the floor in the frame but struggled from beyond the arc, connecting on just two of 13 attempts from beyond the arc.  The hosts shot 72.7 percent from the line in the half.

Decker's nine points paced Baptist Bible, who got seven points from Luke Peterson and four rebounds from Abe Valentine in the half.  The Defenders connected on 37.9 percent of their field goal attempts in the period while going 5-20 from downtown and 7-14 from the foul line.

Baptist Bible build a 43-36 lead over the first 3:44 of the second half before Keystone rallied with a 10-0 spurt to claim a 46-43 lead with 11:55 left in regulation.  Another Decker trey knotted the score back up before the Giants were able to extend their lead to 54-47 at the 8:46 mark after Deion Monroe (Kingston, NY/Kingston ) converted a pair of free throws.  The Defenders again fought back and forged a 59-all tie with five and half minutes remaining before a layup by Lunsford put the hosts back at the point.  Keystone held the lead until the 1:18 mark when Jordan Greve made a pair of free throws to level the game at 67-67.

Jesse Longmire (Harlem, NY/John S. Burke Catholic) completed a clutch, old-fashioned three-point play on Keystone's next possession to give the hosts a lead they would not relinquish, as the Giants quickly built back a 72-67 lead with 49 seconds remaining.  A lay-in by Dan Dodd brought Baptist Bible to within three points with 36 seconds to play, but that was as close as the Defenders would come down the stretch as the Giants went 5-6 from the line to close out the eight-point victory.

Lunsford led all players with 27 points and 11 rebounds while adding four assists and three steals to lead the Giants to the win.  Miles Dargan (Orlando, FL/Wekiva) netted 12 points and Longmire chipped in 10 points as Keystone snapped a three-game losing skid. DaVaughn Thomas (Port Arthur, TX/Silsbee) and Darien Wingate (Brooklyn, NY/Christiana) pulled down six rebounds apiece for the Giants, who finished the game shooting 39.7 percent from the field and 77.4 percent from three-point land.  The hosts won despite going just 3-22 from beyond the arc in the contest.

Decker and Peterson had 17 points apiece to lead Baptist Bible, who also got 12 points from Dodd in the loss.  Peterson and Aaron Clark tied for the team-lead with nine rebounds apiece while Valentine and Peterson dished out four assists apiece.  The Defenders finished the evening hitting on 38.6 percent of their attempts from the floor, 25 percent from beyond the arc, and 63 percent from the charity stripe.

Keystone will travel to Centenary College on Saturday afternoon for a crucial CSAC contest scheduled to tipoff at 1:00 p.m. in Hackettstown, NJ.  The Giants defeated the Cyclones 78-67 at home in the first meeting between the two teams back in December.
