GENESEO, N.Y. – SUNY Geneseo senior forward Matt Curry scored a game-high 15 points, including back-to-back three pointers in the final 1:26 that sealed a 55-52 comeback win over Cortland in State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) men's basketball, Friday night.

Trailing 52-47 with 3:18 remaining in regulation, the Knights finished the game outscoring the Red Dragons, 8-0, to complete a comeback that started in the first half with Cortland jumping out to an 18-4 lead in the first 11:00 of the game. Geneseo held the Red Dragons to 30 percent shooting (6-of-20) in the second half, including only two field goals over the final eight minutes of the game.

"It is a great win when you consider the hole we put ourselves in to start the game," said head coach Steve Minton." We had an amazing shooting turnaround going from 28 percent in the first half to 69 percent in the second. When we weren't shooting well, we tried to make up for it by taking quick shots which compounded the problem. Our shot selection got better in the second half and we were able to get the ball into better positions on the floor and took advantage from there."

Senior guard Connor Fedge and junior forward Gordon Lyons each finished the evening with 14 points for the Knights, while Curry and Lyons each grabbed seven rebounds apiece to lead a Geneseo rebounding advantage, 38-25, for the game.

Geneseo hits the road tomorrow to take on Oswego at 8:00 p.m. to continue SUNYAC play.
