York, Pa. – Marymount University's men's basketball team evened its Capital Athletic Conference record with a 63-53 victory over York (Pa.) on Saturday afternoon.  The Saints improve to 14-7 overall and 6-6 in league play to force a three-way tie for fourth place in the CAC standings.

Reed Scott led the Saints with a game-high 17 points while three other MU players scored in double-figures.  Jesse Konadu added 13 while both JC Hoellich and Michael Anderson chipped in 10.

Anderson and Antonio Rouse led the Blue and White with five assists each.  Hoellich pulled down a game-high eight rebounds while Scott added seven.

Marymount knocked down a three-pointer from Konadu on its first possession and pushed to an 11-2 lead on a Scott layup five minutes in.  The Saints didn't allow York (4-17, 3-10 CAC) to convert a second field goal until the 13:30 mark in the first half.  Taking their first double-digit lead up 18-8 halfway through the frame, the Blue and White held off YCP to take a 33-22 lead into halftime.

In the second, York slowly chipped away the MU lead to pull within three points down 42-39 at the nine minute mark and trailed 46-42 with 6:10 remaining.  Marymount clamped down with six unanswered points to retake a 10-point lead before Konadu essentially put the game out of reach with a three-pointer to lead 57-46 with 2:28 to play before closing out the game at the free throw line.

Matt McNeely and Mike Mathews led York with 15 points each.

Marymount returns to the hardwood on Wednesday as it travels to face CAC newcomer Penn State Harrisburg.
