HACKETTSTOWN, N.J. – Centenary College outscored Marywood 11-0 during the final three minutes en route claiming its fifth consecutive home victory by a 76-63 count on Saturday in Colonial States Athletic Conference men's basketball action from the John M. Reeves Student Recreation Center.

The Cyclones (6-15, 5-9 CSAC) shot 44 percent from the field (23-52) and connected on a season-high 11 three-pointers, while sinking 19-of-21 free throw attempts.

Marywood raced out to a 9-2 lead during the first three minutes, but back-to-back triples from senior Kyle Malavasi (Asbury, N.J./North Hunterdon) followed by a layup from classmate Tim Brix (Monroe Township, N.J./Monroe Township) gave Centenary its first lead.

The teams traded three-pointers over the next 10 minutes until junior Djovan Beausejour's (Doylestown, Pa./Central Bucks East) shot from beyond the arc put Centenary in front 30-25. Two-straight buckets by senior forward Joshua Case (Catasauqua, Pa./Catasauqua) would send the Cyclones into halftime with a 37-31 lead.

Marywood cut its deficit to three, but Centenary responded with a 7-1 run capped off by freshman Zachary Duymich's (Millstone Twp., N.J./Allentown) long-range shot. Another Beausejour three-pointer gave the Cyclones their largest lead at 12 points exactly halfway through the second half.

The Pacers steadily chipped away, coming within two points (63-61) following a Ryan Corrigan shot from long range at the 4:20 mark.

Shane Letthand's running jumper with 2:55 to play again brought the Pacers' deficit to two; however, Marywood missed its final two shots and committed three turnovers during its final possessions and would not score again.

Centenary drained all six of its free throws and Malavasi buried a key three-pointer during an 11-0 run that sealed the 13-point win for the Cyclones.

Malavasi, Duymich, Case and Beausejour combined to score 66 of the Cyclones' 76 points. Beausejour topped all scorers with 22 points after making 9-of-10 free throws, while Malavasi canned four triples and finished with 16 points.

Case added 15 points and a team-best eight rebounds and Duymich collected 13 points, six boards and three assists.

Corrigan tallied 13 points to pace Marywood, which also shot 44 percent (26-58) from the field.

Centenary hopes to deal No. 2 Cabrini its first loss of the season when the Cavaliers visit Hackettstown Wednesday at 7:00 pm.
