The Millikin men lost a tight battle with North Central College 64-60 on Feb. 6 in the Griswold Center in Decatur, Ill.
The game was a physical defensive battle resulting in 19 North Central turnovers and 17 by the Big Blue. Both teams shot the ball well from the field when they got their opportunities with North Central hitting on 57.5 percent from the field while Millikin knocked down 47 percent. North Central out rebounded Millikin 26-20. The game was a tight one throughout with the largest lead in the game being eight points by North Central at 58-50 with three minutes left in the contest.
Millikin got a career high 13 points off the bench from sophomore Brennan Coltrane. Deavis Johnson had 11 points and a team high seven rebounds. Tives Gardner added 10 points.
Vince Kmiec led the Cardinals with 18 points. Landon Gamble had 15. Jack Burchett had a double double with 10 points and 13 rebounds.
North Central is now 11-10, 4-6 while Millikin falls to 7-13, 1-8.
Millikin will be back in action on Saturday, Feb. 8 at Wheaton College at 7 p.m.
