Arlington, Va. – Marymount University's men's basketball team dropped its third straight game to a nationally ranked opponent with a 64-53 loss to 12th-ranked Mary Washington in Capital Athletic Conference action on Saturday afternoon.  The Saints fall to 12-7 overall and 5-6 in league play.

Reed Scott paced the Saints with a double-double, scoring 11 points to go with a game-high 15 rebounds.  Three other MU players scored in double-figures led by Jesse Konadu with 16 points, Michael Anderson with 14 and Tim Brisco with 10.

Mary Washington (17-2, 10-1 CAC) opened the game up 5-0 before Konadu hit MU's first bucket at the 17:14 mark.  The Eagles then went on a 13-5 run to take a double-figure lead up 18-7.  With UMW hovering around a 10-point lead for most of the first half, a five minute scoring drought by both teams opened the doors for a Marymount comeback.  The Eagles led 30-22 with 3:28 remaining but the Saints closed out the frame on a 10-4 run to cut the deficit to just 34-32 going into halftime.

Coming out of the break, Scott evened things up with a layup on the Saints' first possession before knocking down a three-pointer at the 16:51 mark to give the Blue and White their first lead of the game at 39-38.  With six lead changes over the next eight minutes, Marymount found itself up 47-44 with 10:35 to play courtesy of a pair of Brisco free throws.

From there, Mary Washington went on an 11-0 run to lead 58-47 with 3:44 remaining.  The Saints responded with five straight points but couldn't get any closer as the Eagles sealed the win at the free throw line.

Dajon Daniel led Mary Washington with a game-high 18 points.

Marymount returns to the hardwood as it hosts Capital Athletic Conference newcomer Southern Virginia to the Verizon Sports Arena on Wednesday.  Tip-off is set for 8 p.m. and fans can follow the action live by logging on to www.MarymountSaints.com.
