CASTINE, Maine --- Ryan Jann finished with a game-high 17 points and teammate Patrick Stewart added 14 rebounds to go along with nine points and five assists in Colby College's easy 76-41 non-conference men's basketball win over Maine Maritime Academy on Tuesday night.
Colby is 9-8 overall heading into Friday's 8 p.m. home game with Amherst College. The Mariners drop to 1-15 overall.
Sam Willson came off the bench and scored 15 points and pulled down seven rebounds for the Mules, who led 47-25 at halftime. Chris Hudnut finished with a double-double of 12 points and 11 rebounds, Luke Westman had seven points and five boards, and Shane Rogers contributed three steals and three assists.
Maine Maritime stayed in the game for the opening 13 minutes. The game was tied 21-21 and the Mules led just 25-23 after the Mariners' Kyle Boucher scored with 7:26 to intermission.
MMA would not score another field goal the rest of the half. Colby used a 19-0 scoring run to take a 44-23 margin after a Jann 3-point shot. The Mariners hit two free throws for their final points of the half.
MMA went 9:18 without a field goal, finally scoring with 18:08 to play. The Mules were never threatened in the second half.
Colby held the Mariners to just 28.8 percent shooting (15-for-52) and had a 54-35 rebounding advantage.
Boucher shot 6-for-9 from the field and had 13 points, while Tyler Gilson finished with 10 points for MMA.
