Mounties Lose to AMCC Opponent Medaille

Buffalo, NY - The Mount Aloysius men's basketball team lost 96-87 to AMCC preseason favorite Medaille College in their first game of the 2014 calendar year on Saturday afternoon on the road.

Shawn Greenfield poured in 33 points and dished seven assists to lead the Mount on the offensive end. Tanner Thomas came off the bench with a double-figure effort of 14 points on 7-for-9 shooting while adding a team-high seven rebounds. Dillon Bender also finished in double figures with 11 points. Defensively, Dameon Turner and Nolan Doyleboth registered four steals.

The Mavericks shot an efficient 37-for-60 from the field in the high scoring affair, but the Mounties drained ten shots from behind the arc to keep things close throughout the contest.

Mount Aloysius returns to action on Wednesday with a home contest against Pitt-Greensburg at 6 p.m.
