Cresson, PA - The Mount Aloysius basketball team won a back-and-forth contest 91-90 on Wednesday evening against Pitt-Greensburg in AMCC action on their home court.
Shawn Greenfield continued his hot play with 33 points, including 19 in the first half. Dillon Bender added 21 points, while Dameon Turner had an impressive evening with 23 points, including two impressive dunks, on 11-for-12 shooting and 11 rebounds.
The Mounties took a 10-point lead with 3:26 to go in the first half on a layup from Turner, and kept a seven-point advantage heading into the halftime break.
In the late going of the second half, Pitt-Greensburg led 84-83 before the Mount went on a 6-0 run capped by a Turner layup with 1:28 to go. The Mounties would hold that lead until the final play of the game, when Davario Barksdale (eight rebounds, six assists) blocked a Greensburg jumper at the buzzer.
The Mounties improve to 5-5 overall and 2-2 in conference play and will travel to Hilbert this Saturday.
