Men's Hoops Persevere, Take down La Roche in AMCC Match

Cresson-  The Mount Aloysius College men's basketball team (3-4, 1-1) won a thrilling conference game against La Roche College (4-3, 2-1) 92-84.

In a game that saw four lead changes late and had the La Roche Redhawks storm back from a 12 point halftime deficit to take a 7 point lead in the second half, the Mounties stayed strong and persevered for the win.

The game was won off of second chance points where the Mounties held a 20 to 9 point advantage.  The Mountie bench also contributed 30 points compared to 4 for the Redhawks. 

Shawn Greenfield led all scorers with 26 points.  Dillon Bender added 19 while shooting 50% from downtown on 5 of 10 three pointers.  Captain Davario Barksdale chipped in with 12 points and 9 rebounds, many of his buckets were big in the second half as they came at opportune times to thwart the Redhawks' run.  Tanner Thomas scored 11 points off the bench.

For the Redhawks, Lionel Perkins scored 25 points in a losing effort.  Andre Flanigan backed up Perkins with 19.  David Jackson recorded a double-double with 11 points and 16 rebounds. 

The Mounties return to action this Saturday, December 14, at 1pm against out of conference opponent, Lycoming College.
