Henain Ties Block Record in Crucial 94-81 Victory at Farmingdale

FARMINGDALE, N.Y. – Senior forward Joe Henain (Hopewell Junction, N.Y.) blocked a pair of shots on Saturday to tie the program career mark with 161, as the Mount Saint Mary College men's basketball team (13-4, 9-1 Skyline) picked up a big 94-81 Skyline Conference victory over Farmingdale State College (11-5, 7-2 Skyline) Saturday afternoon. The win leaves the Knights alone in second place in the conference behind the 8-0 Purchase College Panthers.

Henain also picked up his ninth double-double of the season with 17 points and 10 rebounds to go along with his pair of blocks. Senior forward Chris Pisciotta (New Hyde Park, N.Y.) kept his hot streak going with 23 points, nine boards and four assists, while senior guard Donte Howell hit 5-of-8 threes en route to a 21-point effort.

The Knights came out of the gate with a 10-0 run to take the only lead they needed in Saturday's contest. Later in the first, the visitors strung together an 11-0 run to take a 36-13 advantage. The Knights led by as many as 30 in the opening frame before taking a 53-27 lead into the break.

The host Rams picked it up in the second half, but could not cut the deficit to less than 11 points. The Rams shot 56.4 percent (22-of-39) in the period, including six three-pointers, but were unable to make up the difference despite outscoring the Knights, 54-41, in the second stanza.

Farmingdale was led by Justin Bailey's 21 points, while Timothy Johnson followed with 20. Donald Lawes picked up a double-double with 11 points and 10 boards, and also blocked a game-high three shots.

The Knights shot 51.5 percent (35-of-68) from the field in Saturday's win, including 11 three-pointers. The Knights outrebounded the home team, 43-37, and outscored the Rams in the paint, 46-38.

The Knights return home on Wednesday, Jan. 29, when they host The Sage Colleges in a Skyline Conference matchup. The Knights outlasted the Gators in their matchup back on Dec. 4, 2013, with an 84-83 victory. Wednesday night's tip-off is scheduled for 7 p.m. from the Kaplan Center.
