Middlebury improved to 8-5 on the year with an 81-69 road win at Lyndon State (3-10) on Tuesday night. The Panthers scored 24 points on 19 Hornet turnovers en route to the victory. Middlebury returns to action on Friday night with a NESCAC contest at Wesleyan.

Middlebury jumped out to an 8-0 lead, knocking down four of its first five shots. The margin continued to grow, with the Panthers owning a 17-6 advantage with 14:48 left in the first half.

Middlebury kept up the pressure, leading by 16 after a 16-7 run over a five-minute span ending at the 6:47 mark. A three late in the first half by Matt St. Amour gave Middlebury its largest lead of the first 20 minutes as they entered the intermission with a 46-26 margin.

The lead remained in double digits for most of the second half, with a 10-0 run by the Hornets bringing them within seven at 67-60 with 4:33 remaining. Hunter Merryman answered the run with a big three to put his team back up by 10 with 4:14 remaining. The Panthers were strong down the stretch, coming away with the victory.

St. Amour led four players in double figures with 16 on the night, followed by 15 points and seven boards from Merryman. Dylan Sinnickson finished with 13 points, James Jensen scored 10, while Jack Roberts earned eight boards with three blocks. Jake Brown scored six, picked up five steals and dished out four assists.

JoJo Woodruff led all scorers with 21 for Lyndon, followed by Josh Bosworth and David Johnson with 13 apiece. George Carle scored a dozen points in the contest with 13 boards.
