The Baruch College Bearcats snapped a four game losing streak with a 69-61 victory over Brooklyn College on Tuesday night.

The Bulldogs (3-8, 1-4 CUNYAC) led by four points (29-25) with 2:31 left in the opening half, but the visiting Bearcats (7-6, 4-2 CUNYAC) took control by scoring the last nine points to carry a 34-29 lead into the break.

Ryan Markoe helped continue the momentum to start the second half with a 3-pointer to build the lead up to 37-29.

The advantage would grow to double-digits behind a great scoring effort from Granville Gittens and solid production off the bench by Joshua Vital and Matt Feldman.

The Bulldogs did manage late to get as close as four points (63-59) with 35 seconds left, but Vital scored a layup on the team's next possession to close out the impressive home victory at the West Quad Center.

Gittens led the Bearcats with 22 points, seven rebounds and two blocked shots. Vital scored 14 points (8-9 FT) and Feldman had 12 points (7-8 FT) to help the team total 30 points from the bench. Edward Roscigno dished out five assists.

The Bulldogs, who shot only 14-of-26 from the free throw line, were led by Jai Kellman with 16 points.

The men's basketball team will return to action on Saturday at 2:00 pm with a contest at Division I and Ivy league Yale University in New Haven, Connecticut.
