Hornet Men Win Fourth-Straight Game 78-58 over Washington & Jefferson
HAMPDEN-SYDNEY, VA - The Lynchburg College men's basketball team closed out 2013 with its fourth-straight victory, 78-58 Monday over Washington & Jefferson College in a game played at the Hampden-Sydney College Luck Stone Holiday Classic.
LC led 35-29 at intermission and quickly extended the advantage to double figures in the second half. The Hornets took a commanding 60-41 lead with an 8-0 run, capped by a Daniel Rowe three-pointer.
Senior Manny Hernandez earned his way onto the All-Classic Team with another complete statistical game. Following his 18-point, nine rebound performance Sunday, the 6'3" swingman finished today's contest tied for a game-high with 19 points, and also added seven rebounds and three steals.
Rowe also finished in double figures with 13 points and combined with Hernandez to hit five three pointers. Gary Boone II and Austen Arnoldeach had nine points while Alex Graves grabbed a game-high 10 rebounds to go along with seven points. Lyndon White had six points, seven rebounds and six assists.
Nate Bellhy finished with 19 points and eight rebounds for the Presidents (6-4), and also was named to the All-Classic Team.
Lynchburg (8-2) will open 2014 at Marymount University, Friday, January 2 at 4 p.m.
