Brooklyn, NY---The Brooklyn College Men's Basketball Team broke a three game skid, defeating Medgar Evers 89-68 at West Quad on Friday evening, to earn their first conference win and bring their record to 3-6, 1-2 CUNYAC. With the loss, Medgar falls to 1-8, 0-4 on the year.

The win came in a grueling four game span in which the Bulldogs played three contests, including two road losses earlier this week. Tonight, you could not see any signs of fatigue in BC as they played their usual fast-breaking style and jumped out to a 46-32 halftime lead over the borough rival Cougars.

The Bulldogs were led by a balanced attack that saw four players post at least seven points in the stanza. In addition, the team combined for 10 assists and eight blocks in the period.

In the second half, Medgar made a couple runs, getting within eight points, 53-45, at the 14:59 mark, but Brooklyn would prove to be too strong. The Bulldogs would immediately go on a 15-4 run to balloon the lead to 18, and out of reach for Cougars.

Medgar Evers' Khalid Yousef led all scorers with 27 points, but the Brooklyn College duo of Egzon Gjonbalaj and Jai Kellman notched 26 points a piece, as each shot 9-15 from the field.

Valon Djombalic was big for BC as well, filling up the stat sheet with 11 points, nine rebounds, five assists and five blocks on the evening.

The Cougars' Valin Williams dominated the boards in defeat, racking up a game-high 21 rebounds and also posted a game-high of six blocks.

Brooklyn will have to wait until the New Year to aim for their second conference win as they will travel to the Bronx on January 3rd to take on the Lehman Lightning in a CUNYAC showdown.
