Instead the momentum was quickly captured by the Devils as the rattled off the next seven points and did not allow the Rangers to get any closer in for the remainder of the game.

Each time it seemed the Rangers were poised for a run, FDU came back with a big run of their own. Drew senior Jason Chornyei (Westerly, R.I./Cheshire Academy) came up with an old-fashioned three-point play to cut the Ranger deficit to 10 with 9:17 to play. The Devils came back with the knock-out blow, ripping off a 14-4 run over the next 5:25. The Devils took their largest lead of 22 on a pair of free throws be Flete with 4:03 remaining in the game.
