BANGOR, Maine – Husson won its sixth-straight game with a 103-57 win over Maine Maritime in a North Atlantic Conference men's basketball game Saturday. The Eagles improved to 2-0 NAC, 6-0 overall, while the Mariners dropped to 0-2, 1-6.
Garrett Libby led Maine Maritime with 18 points and Tyler Chiasson finished with 13. Tyler Gilson contributed a team-leading 9 rebounds and Kyle Boucher chipped in with 7.
Raheem Anderson paced Husson with 21 points and Phil Leighton added 17 points and 7 rebonds. Dan Fleming finished with 13 and Phil Leighton added 10.
The Eagles started with 14-2 lead early in the game and maintaining a double-digit lead the entire game. Anderson had a strong first half showing, putting up 15 points and Flemming had 11 in the half. Trevon Butler's buzzer-beating three gave Husson a 57-29 lead at halftime.
The Eagles led by as many as 52, 100-48, in the second half before the Mariners closed out the game with seven points from Boucher and two by Brad Reed.
Maine Maritime returns to the court Tuesday, 7 p.m., hosting Bowdoin.
