PITTSBURGH, PA – La Roche men's basketball (4-2, 2-0) was very efficient with the basketball and played tough team defense to upend Medaille College 69-55 in a big conference game.
The Redhawks held Medaille to just 29% from the field to build a 35-27 halftime lead. Andre Flanigan paced the offense with 9 points and David Jackson added 4 rebounds.
La Roche opened the second half on a 17-5 run to extend their lead to twenty. A trio of 3-pointers by Lionel Perkins and an alley oop from David Jackson highlighted the run.
Flanigan led the Redhawks with 17 points and Jackson added another double-double with 14 points and 12 rebounds. Perkins finished with 13 points and Neal McKown chipped in 5 assists.
La Roche outrebounded the Mavericks 38-22. The Redhawks also shot 44% (21 of 48) from the field, 42% (8 of 19) from 3-point range, and 83% (19 of 23) from the foul line.
The men's basketball team will travel to Mt. Aloysius College on Wednesday for an AMCC Conference game. The Mounties are coming off an 86-65 loss to St. Vincent College.
