The Baruch College Bearcats lost a high-scoring 90-78 contest to the Ducks from the Stevens Institute of Technology on Wednesday night in Hoboken, New Jersey.

The Bearcats fall to 4-2 on the season, while the Ducks from the Empire 8 Conference improve to 3-3.

The Ducks took a 43-42 lead into the halftime break by shooting 55 percent (17-for-31), which included a busy 7-for-16 from three-point range, to contribute to the high-scoring intermission.

The Bearcats kept the game close in the first half with some torrid shooting of their own by connecting on 7-of-10 from 3-point range at Canavan Arena.

They started the second half with a layup by Joshua Vital and a pair of free throws by Edward Roscigno to jump ahead 46-43 just 41 seconds into the half.

Over the next several minutes, the Ducks took back the lead at 52-48, but hot shooting by Raymond De La Cruz from 3-point range and a layup by Brian McMahon helped recover the lead back at 55-52 with 14:04 remaining.

The two teams were tied at 63 on a free throw by Vital with 8:42 left, but the Ducks erupted at this point with a 10-2 run to lead 73-65.

Over the final eight minutes, they had all the momentum by finishing shooting 7-of-11 from the field and 11-of-12 from the free throw line en route to the 90-78 victory.

The Ducks shot 56 percent (32-for-57) overall, and were led by Brian Kilmak with 28 points (9-of-11 fg, 6-of-8 3fg, 4-4 ft).

Dela Cruz led the Bearcats with a season-high 23 points by shooting 7-of-11 from 3-point range.

Granville Gittens scored 15 points and Roscigno totaled 12 points, five assists and two steals in the disappointing road loss to an opponent that played in last year's NCAA Tournament.

The Bearcats will return to action on Friday, December 6, with a 7:30 pm CUNYAC home contest against John Jay College of Criminal Justice.

Prior to the start of the contest, the athletic department will honor the memory of Laurence Smith '10.

The Student Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) will also be on hand for their Holiday Toy Drive to collect unwrapped toys to be donated to the Salvation Army.
