ARLINGTON, Va. - Wesley College's 17th-ranked men's basketball team saw its five-game winning streak come to and end at Capital Athletic Conference rival Marymount (Va.), 80-73 on Wednesday night at Verizon Wireless Arena.  The Wolverines now stand at 5-1 overall and 1-1 in the CAC while the Saints move to 6-1 on the the year and 1-1 in league play.

Despite making more field goals than Marymount, 29-28, and more three-pointers, six to three, the difference came at the free throw line as the Saints made 21-of-26 attempts while Wesley sunk just 9-of-14. Marymount also made 54.9% of its shots while the Wolverines shot 48.3%.

Wayne Lennon led the Wolverines with a season-high 17 points on 7-of-11 shooting, including 3-of-5 from downtown. James Livingston tallied 13 points before fouling out while Quincy Pettiford added 12.  David Langan finished with eight points and a game-high ten rebounds.

Six Saints scored in double figures, led by JC Hoellich who recorded 19 points and nine rebounds. Jesse Konadu (17) and Antonio Rouse (16) combined for 33 points.

Marymount led by as many as 11 points with 3:58 left in the first half.  Wesley cut the deficit to a single basket on four separate occasions in the second period, with the last coming with 3:05 left to play after a three from Livingston cut the lead to 71-69.

Hoellich then scored two-straight baskets to prevent the Navy & White from getting over the hump.

The Wolverines return to action on December 7 when they travel to Frostburg State for a 3 pm CAC tipoff.
