Wheaton, Ill.- Neither a ten-day layoff or a high octane University of Chicago offense seemed to bother the Thunder at King Arena on Wednesday. Having not played since a loss to #3-College of Wooster on November 23, the #13-ranked Wheaton men's basketball team opened the game with a 16-0 run over the first seven minutes of play en route to an 84-61 win. Tyler Peters recorded his second 'triple-double' of the season with game-highs of 25 points, 12 rebounds and 10 assists. Brayden Teuscher added 19 points for the Thunder who improved to 4-2 on the season.

A late Maroons three cut the halftime lead to 46-27.
A 7-0 UChicago run in the middle of the second half cut the lead down to 14 points at 66-52 with 11:09 remaining but Chicago would get no closer as Wheaton coasted down the stretch to the 84-61 victory.
Nate Haynes finished with 11 points and nine rebounds for the Thunder. Joel Smith (PICTURED LEFT) added eight points. Wayne Simon led the Maroons with 16 points.
