ASTON, Pa. – The Cabrini men's basketball team remained perfect with today's 111-99 win over Widener University at the 2013 Coaches vs. Cancer Classic at Neumann University's Mirenda Center.  The victory improved the Blue and White to 5-0 on the season.  Cabrini's 111 points are the most the club has scored since a 129-112 loss to Emory & Henry on November 18, 2006.

Just four days after a career high 33 points in a win against Scranton, junior Aaron Walton-Moss established a new best with 40 points, just five points off Cabrini's single game record.  The junior hit on 14-20 from the floor and 12-14 from the free throw line.

Senior A.J. Picard connected on 8-16 attempts from the field for 27 points, while fellow senior Fran Rafferty added 19 points, including 4-5 from three point range.

Widener led through the game's early minutes, but a pair of Picard free throws gave the Cavaliers an 8-7 lead just over two minutes into the action.  Back to back three pointers by Rafferty and sophomore Brad Fagan extended Cabrini's lead to 31-19 with 12 minutes left in the opening half.   

The Blue and White shot 60% from the floor and a perfect 17-17 from the charity stripe before the break, as it built a 63-47 halftime lead.   

Rafferty opened the second half with a three point play but the Pride tallied the next nine points of the half, cutting Cabrini's lead back to 68-58.  With 15:32 to play, the Cavaliers' lead stood at 70-62, when a Walton-moss jumper spurred a 9-0 run. 

The Pride got as close as 11 points in the game's final minutes but the Blue and White hit 50% from the floor, including 5-11 from three point range and 13-15 from the line to seal the victory.  

Walton-Moss added five rebounds, eight assists, two blocks and a steal to his line for the afternoon.  Picard grabbed seven boards, while freshman Deryl Bagwell added six. 

The Blue and White's 30-32 (93.8%) performance is the team's best since it went 16-17 (94.1%) in a 78-58 win over Scranton in the 2012 NCAA Elite Eight.

Junior Greg Lawson led four Pride players in double figures with 21 points and a game-high 11 rebounds.  Sophomore Laron Byrd added 18 points for Widener (5-1).

Cabrini will return to action on Monday as it opens its Colonial States Athletic Conference slate with a visit from the Gwynedd Mercy University Griffins(3-2).  Tip is scheduled for approximately 8:00 p.m. following the women's game.
