DOYLESTOWN (PA) – Junior swingman Jay Donovan continued his hot shooting this week as he was 8-for-11 from 3-point land and finished with a career-high 30 points in Delaware Valley College's 85-58, non-conference victory at SUNY-New Paltz.

The Aggies improved to 3-1 on the young season while the loss dropped the Hawks to 2-2.

Donovan hit seven of nine shots from beyond the arc and tied a previous career-high with 28 points in Wednesday's 92-83 overtime win over defending New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC) champion Ramapo College. He was even better on Saturday afternoon as his eight treys missed the school's single-game record by just two and that mark, by Isaiah Pinckney in a 2006 game against Richard Stockton College, was reached on 19 attempts. Donovan finished 9-for-12 from the field and 4-for-5 from the foul line in 33 minutes of action.

New Paltz led by as many as five in the opening 20 minutes thanks to 55.6 percent shooting from 3-point land. The Aggies ended the stanza with a 5-0 run, including a bomb from Donovan, to take a 36-30 lead into the intermission.

The second half was all Delaware Valley as it outscored the Hawks, 49-28. The Aggies hit 15 of 25 shots from the field, including a 6-for-9 effort from beyond the arc. Meanwhile, New Paltz slowed down and managed to hit just one of its nine 3-point attempts.

The Hawks hit the first shot of the half, but Delaware Valley, Donovan specifically, scored seven straight for its first double digit lead of the contest. He hit two treys with a free throw sandwiched in-between.

New Paltz pulled to within eight, 45-37, with 16:38 to go before the Aggies scored nine straight points over the next two minutes to go up comfortably. They built the lead to as many 28 and got 13 of their players into the game.

In addition to Donovan's heroics, Francis Arnold notched 14 points, eight assists and six steals. Nick Sullivan came off the bench to drop in 11 points while Chris Moran added 10 points and six rebounds. Zach Sly dished out six assists while Steve Wade finished with six points and eight boards.

Taylor Sowah led New Paltz with 18 points and six rebounds. Andrew Seniuk came off the bench to add 13 points.
