Penn State Behrend dealt the Pitt-Bradford men's basketball team a 63-42 season-ending loss Tuesday night in the first round of the AMCC tournament.
The score was nearly identical to last year's first round 65-39 loss to the Lions. The Panthers entered the matchup having won three straight games in the final week of the regular season to secure a playoff spot.
Behrend opened the game on a 14-2 flourish and never looked back, leading by as much as 19 in the opening half before taking a 32-18 advantage into the halftime break.
Pitt-Bradford cut the deficit to 10 on two occasions in the second half, but it would get no closer.
The Panthers were cold from the field, managing just 15 made shots on the night. They hit 36 percent of their attempts and committed 21 turnovers. The Lions shot 55 percent from the field, hit eight three-pointers and scored 19 points off turnovers.
Tyler Ferguson led Pitt-Bradford with 13 points and Keith Burgess added 11. No other player scored more than four.
The Panthers end the season with a mark of 13-13. Behrend advances to face La Roche Friday in the semifinals at Hilbert.
