SPRINGFIELD, Mass.--Western New England men's basketball senior co-captain Damon Alston has been named honorable mention on the 2013 All-Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) Team, Commissioner Gregg M. Kaye announced on Tuesday. This signals the guard's first all-star appearance.

A product of St. Paul Catholic from New Britain, Conn., Alston is the Golden Bears' leading scorer at 14.0 points per game going into tonight's CCC Tournament quarterfinal game at top-seeded Curry. The 10th-leading scorer in the conference, he also ranks second in 3-pointers made (60) and free throw percentage (.895; 51-57). He has led the team in scoring 15 times this season, including back-to-back 30-point games against Nichols (Jan. 26) and Salve Regina (Jan. 29) when he notched a career-high 31 both times.

All 10 CCC institutions were represented on the all-conference men's basketball team, which was voted upon by each of the league's head coaches along with the list of major individual award winners.
