Brooklyn, NY---The #4 seeded Brooklyn College Bulldogs, staged an exciting regulation comeback, and then emerged victorious after the third overtime period, defeating #5 seeded Medgar Evers College, 79-76, and advancing to the CUNYAC/Con Edison Semifinal Round to face the #1 seed, Staten Island, on Thursday at 6 pm. That game will be played at CCNY's Nat Holman Gymnasium.

Jeffrey Noel, who was named the CUNYAC/Con Edison Player of the Game, hit a huge three-pointer with 15 seconds to go in regulation, tying the game at 51 and sending it into overtime.

In that period, the Cougars held onto a 61-59 lead with under 40 seconds to go and the ball, when guard Hector Navarro misfired on a pull-up jumper, leading to a fight for the rebound that would go in and out of multiple hands before Noel would pick up the loose ball and take it in for the break-a-way dunk to once again tie the contest and send it to a second overtime.

Medgar's Michael Taylor would hit the big basket and consequent free throw in the 2nd overtime to tie the game with 59 seconds remaining, and after both teams came up empty for the remainder of the period, a third overtime would ensue.

In the third overtime, Winston Douglas pulled down a defensive rebound with the Cougars up one and 18 seconds to play, but he threw away the outlet pass, as BC's Steven Diaz came up with the steal and was fouled going to the hoop. Diaz would sink both free throws, and then after each coach called a time out, Nicholas Grasso would come up with another Bulldog steal, before Kavon Baker was fouled, making both free throws to give his team the 79-76 lead.

MEC's Michael Taylor got off a three that was just long with two seconds to go, and although Douglas grabbed the board, he could not get a shot off as the buzzer expired, giving the Bulldogs the vicotry.

Noel scored 20 points and grabbed seven boards, while Baker had 24 points, 12 boards, six assists and five steals, while playing all 55 minutes for Brooklyn. Senior Steven Grant finished with 10 points, while freshman Egzon Gjonbalaj chipped in with a team and career-high 13 rebounds. Freshman Shayne Martinez contributed with 11 points and seven rebounds coming off the bench,

Taylor led Medgar with a game-high 34 points. Douglas grabbed a game-high 28 rebounds to go with 18 points. Navarro grabbed 14 rebounds to go with seven points, while Valin Williams chipped in with 13 rebounds and five points.
