The Hobart College basketball team put four players in double digits on its way to a 76-59 Liberty League victory at Bard College. The win was the eighth in a row for the Statesmen, matching the school record.

Senior Stefan Thompson led Hobart with 20 points and a game-high seven assists. Junior Richie Bonney added 19 points and a team-high six rebounds. Sophomore Connor Rehbaum and junior Joe Gibbons chipped in 16 and 10 points, respectively. The Statesmen (16-6, 12-1) shot 53.8 percent from the floor, including 7-of-13 from beyond the 3-point arc, and 76.5 percent from the free throw line. Hobart also enjoyed a 26-22 rebounding edge.

Lamar Powell scored a game-high 21 points for the Raptors (4-19, 1-14). Siondueh Burnette and Jeremy Arnstein added 16 and 13 points, respectively. Bard shot 54.5 percent from the floor with four 3-pointers and 58.3 percent from the line.

Bonney scored 10 of his 19 points in the first seven minutes of a game that never saw the Statesmen trail. Hobart ended the first half on an 11-5 run and carried a 41-26 lead into the break.

In the second half, the Raptors twice got as close as 10 down, the last time on a jumper by Burnette 5:31 remaining, but a 7-1 burst capped off by a Rehbaum trey stretched the Statesmen lead to 16, effectively ending any hopes for a comeback by the home team.

The last time a Hobart basketball team won eight straight games was during the 2000-01 season.

Hobart will wrap up its three-game road trip and attempt to break the win streak record on Tuesday, Feb. 12, at RIT. Tipoff is slated for 8 p.m.
