PASADENA, CA – The Cal Lutheran men's basketball team had an efficient offensive effort as they posted a 66-47 win over Caltech.

The Kingsmen converted on nearly half of their field goal attempts (48.9 percent, 23-for-47) while nailing six of their 12 shots from behind the arc. In addition to their offensive output they held Caltech to a 38.1 percent shooting night (16-for-42). Cal Lutheran came into the game leading the SCIAC in defense.

A solid start to the first half for Cal Lutheran proved pivotal. A Jeremy Sulker-Hall three-point play with 14:08 left in the stanza concluded a 13-4 start to the contest. The visitors eventually increased their lead to 25-8 with 6:32 remaining in the half. It was the largest lead the Kingsmen enjoyed during the game's first 20 minutes. The visitors went into the locker room with a 31-17 advantage.

Caltech scored four the first six points to start the second to get within 33-21 but that 12-point spread was as close as they would get in the final half. During the final frame Cal Lutheran hit half of their 22 field attempts, including making three from behind the arc, as they pulled away for the win.

Pang Wang's 10-point evening off the bench led all Caltech scorers. The senior went 3-for-6 from the floor and made three shots from the charity stripe during his 14 minutes of action.

Mike Paluchniak had a team best five rebounds.

"It was nice to see Pang play with aggressiveness," said head coach Oliver Eslinger. "I was pleased to see Mike Paluchniak calm us down and provide steady play."

Jayvaughn Nettles went 5-for-5 from the field en route to a 13-point effort. Michael Palmer scored a game high 14 points, including a 3-for-5 shooting performance from three-point land, to pace the Cal Lutheran offense.
