BUFFALO, NY—Buffalo State (10-6/5-5) overcame a large lead, then squandered a double-digit advantage of its own, before pulling off a 93-89 overtime victory over visiting Plattsburgh (11-5/7-2) tonight in a SUNYAC contest at the Sports Arena.

Jake Simmons (Rochester/School of the Arts) led five Bengal scorers in double-figures with 24 points.  Roderick Epps (Uniondale/Uniondale) added 19 points, while Brad Doyley (Brooklyn/HS of Sports Management) scored 15.  Ryan Carney (Olean/Olean) added 11 points and 13 rebounds, and Leon Moise (Brooklyn/PATHS at Jefferson) netted 10 points on 5 of 5 shooting.

Plattsburgh jumped out to an early 17 point lead, but Buffalo State outscored the Cardinals 24-10 over the final 6:34 of the first half to take a 52-50 lead into the locker room at the break. Buffalo State seemed to take control, opening up a 15-point lead in the second, icing the Cardinals' shooters.  The Bengals did not score for the final 4:39 of regulation, however, and Plattsburgh closed regulation with a frantic 14-0 run to force overtime knotted at 84-84.  Buffalo State scored seven of the first nine points in the extra session to secure the victory.

The Bengals overcame a season-worst 34 turnovers by shooting 53-percent from the field for the game.  Plattsburgh shot just 35-percent from the field, and just 53-percent (20 of 38) from the free throw line.
