Lewis Goes for 25 and 12, Dail Dishes Out 14 Assists but Bulldogs Down Beavers, 80-69

BROOKLYN, N.Y. – Anthony Lewis posted his third double-double with 25 points 12 rebounds and senior guard Paul Dail set a new career mark with 14 assists but the City College of New York fell to Brooklyn College, 80-69, on Saturday afternoon at the West Quad Center.

Lewis' 25 points came on 11-for-20 from the field and five of his 12 rebounds came on the offensive glass. The sophomore added two assists and two steals while Dail led all Beavers with six steals.

Freshman Anthony Stephens, who was making just his second start of the season, finished with eight points on 4-of-7 shooting and eight rebounds and added one blocked shot while Guilherme Brodt tied his career-high with three blocked shots in his first game since Dec. 2 (Vassar). Brodt finished with eight points and four rebounds in 17 minutes of action. Zachary Heiss and Jordan Ortega recorded nine points apiece.

The Bulldogs did not allow the Beavers to go on a run as Brooklyn traded points with CCNY to preserve its lead. Kavon Baker led the Bulldogs with 24 points and three other Brooklyn players reached double figures as BC shot 51 percent from the field.

The Beavers return to Nat Holman Gymnasium to host John Jay College on Wednesday, Jan. 23 at 2 p.m.
