The Pitt-Bradford men's basketball team squandered a seven-point halftime lead Monday night and lost to Medaille 74-65. It was the team's third straight defeat.

After being limited to 26 points in the first half, Medaille erupted for 48 points in the second half behind seven three-pointers, outscoring the Panthers by 16 in the final 20 minutes and erasing what was once an 11-point deficit.

Keith Burgess' three-point play with 5:36 remaining in the first half capped a 10-2 Panther run and pushed their advantage to 28-17. Pitt-Bradford never trailed in the half and eventually led 33-26 at the break.

The Panthers would hold onto the lead until the 7:55 mark of the second half. Leading by six, Medaille connected on a three-pointer and moments later, converted a three-point play to even the score at 54. The Mavericks would extend their lead to three, but Tyler Fantaskey tied the game at 59 on his only triple of the night.

Jammal Coleman scored on the other end for the eventual go ahead basket, and shortly after, he hit consecutive three-pointers to stretch the Medaille advantage to eight with 3:15 remaining. Brandon McClester pulled the Panthers within five at the 1:33 mark, but the Mavericks hit another three on their ensuing possession and Pitt-Bradford never threatened again.

Medaille shot 55 percent in the second half and finished 28-55 from the field overall. The Mavericks were 7-11 from long-range in the final period after hitting just one attempt in the opening half. They outrebounded the Panthers by two and held a 26-14 scoring edge in the paint.

Pitt-Bradford shot 48 percent and hit eight three-pointers of its own. Burgess led the offense with 22 points and McClester chipped in with 20.

Pitt-Bradford drops to 7-8 on the season and 2-6 in the AMCC. The Panthers return home Thursday to host Penn State Behrend.
